High-Performance Clear Polyurethane Adhesive for Marine and Industrial Applications

ZDS-8385 is a clear, flexible, high-strength polyurethane structural adhesive engineered for demanding marine and industrial environments. Its unique formulation provides outstanding resistance against seawater erosion, harsh weather, and extreme mechanical stress, ensuring reliability in critical bonding and sealing situations. With a viscosity range of 8000-12000 cps, this product offers excellent gap filling and workability for various substrate materials. Curing to a durable 80-85A hardness, ZDS-8385 not only maintains structural integrity but also delivers exceptional elongation (450%)—absorbing vibrations and hull deformations caused by waves, making it ideal for the marine sector.

This advanced polyurethane surpasses traditional epoxies and sealants with enhanced UV stability (ΔE ≈ 1.2), high peel strength (3.5 N/mm), and exceptional impact resistance (35 kJ/m2), providing robust, long-term bonding to aluminum, steel, and fiberglass. Whether used for product repair, assembly, or protection, ZDS-8385 delivers on long-term performance and aesthetics.

💡 Use Cases
Marine-Grade Durability, High Elongation and Flexibility, Superior Peel Strength, UV Stability, Excellent Impact Resistance, Clear Finish
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oil or grease. Apply ZDS-8385 directly to one substrate using a caulking gun or spatula. Join the substrates together within the open time window. Apply even pressure to ensure full contact and optimal bonding. Uncured excess adhesive can be cleaned with a suitable solvent. Allow to cure at room temperature (25°C) for 24 hours for maximum strength.
  • Structural bonding of metal (aluminum, steel) and fiberglass
  • Marine hull repair and maintenance
  • Automotive body panel bonding
  • Manufacturing assemblies requiring flexibility and clarity
  • Aesthetic repair where clarity is essential
Supplied in sealed cartridges. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Shelf life is 12 months in original, unopened packaging.

Is ZDS-8385 suitable for underwater bonding?

ZDS-8385 is designed for marine environments and offers high resistance to seawater, but bonding should be performed on dry surfaces before exposure to water.

Can ZDS-8385 be painted over?

Once fully cured, ZDS-8385 can be painted with most marine and industrial coatings. Test for compatibility before application.

What materials does ZDS-8385 bond to?

This adhesive provides strong bonds on aluminum, steel, fiberglass, and many plastics. Always test adhesion on a small sample before full-scale application.
